Millie

Millie

Apprentice Trench Digger

Millie is our apprentice trench digger and even though she’s no longer a puppy- she’s not yet moved on from being an apprentice!  She has bundles of energy and loves people- so much that she will sit on the feet of people she has never met!  She loves training and long walks where she can run around freely.  She also loves digging…… in big bags of building sand!

Fun Fact – Millie loves brussell sprouts – but hates carrots!

Our favourite thing about Millie – Millie is super friendly, and extremely loyal.  She gets worried if someone sneezes or coughs, and tries to help by licking their face into oblivion!  She’s playful, loving, and loves a cuddle.  She also gives us plenty of laughs with her crazy personality!

In Loving Memory of Oscar

Black Labrador

Former Head of Security

Sadly we lost Oscar, our previous ‘Head of Security’, in August 2023 to stomach cancer.  He reached the grand old age of 13 and was lucky enough to have lived a wonderful life where he was loved unconditionally for it’s entirety- and then some!  Oscar was Jason’s very best friend and spent most of his life on site- so he was a huge part of our team.  Sadly Oscar lost his sight in the last few years of his life- but whilst that meant he couldn’t come to site any longer- he became Deb’s office buddy instead, which they both loved!

Oscar was a real foodie (like most labs!) and loved nothing more than a biscuit- or any food actually!  Whilst Oscar couldn’t see- this only heightened his other senses so there was no scrap of food that he couldn’t snuffle out!  He adjusted very well to losing his sight and soon found his way around new places- it was really quite fascinating!

In September 2024 Jason cycled a gruelling 55 miles from London to Brighton in Oscar’s memory, raising money for Macmillan.  Oscar still lives on in our hearts- and on our vans where he is pictured!  He will forever be our team mascot, and the best Head of Security we could have ever asked for.

Josh B

Josh B

Carpenter

Josh is a highly skilled Carpenter who joined us in February 2019 having worked in Carpentry for another company for a few years previously.  Josh was extremely keen to learn and gain a qualification, so we have supported him through college and he is now very close to completing his NVQ in Carpentry.  Having had previous carpentry experience, Josh is highly skilled in this area and loves nothing more than working with wood!  Like the other members of the TED team though, he is very much a team player and will always help out with other tasks and has a very wide knowledge of the building industry since working within his varied role.

Fun fact – Josh has a firm loyalty to the Milwaukee brand of tools, some would say it’s a healthy obsession!

Our favourite thing about Josh – Josh is, quite literally, always happy!  We’ve never seen him not wearing a smile, nothing is ever too much trouble and he is kind through and through.  He’s always there for his team and will go out of his way to help people wherever he can.  He also drives a Citroen, and he still smiles!

Josh S

Josh

Bricklayer

Josh is an NVQ qualified bricklayer, having completed his apprenticeship with us when he started in July 2019.  Naturally, Josh loves all things brickwork but having worked in such a varied role with us since he joined, he’s skilled in all aspects of building.

Fun fact – Josh goes by the name of Scoobs when on site- attributed to an adorable picture sent to us of mini toddler Josh by his Mum- where he was sporting a lovely Scooby Doo jumper!

Our favourite thing about Josh – We often catch him carrying out random acts of kindness, that he thinks we don’t see…. Our favourite was when he stopped loading the van to go and help an elderly blind gentleman cross the road.  He has a heart of gold, and we love him for it!

Deborah

Deborah Groundsell

Office Manager

Deborah is the office manager for TED and looks after all of our admin – she and Jason are also husband and wife!  She has a finance background and is fully qualified in AAT.  She is also chief sandwich maker and doggy walker!

Fun Fact – Deborah accompanied Jason to the ‘Fastest Trowel on the Block’ competition as his tender (labourer!) and was the only female participant- she is an avid supporter of females in Construction!

Our favourite thing about Deborah – Not only does she make a cracking bacon sandwich, Deborah is kind and considerate and will always put others before herself.  She’s always there with a supportive ear and really cares about others and their wellbeing.

Brad

Brad

Site Supervisor

Brad is our Site Supervisor and specialises in Carpentry, however he is extremely proficient and multi skilled in all areas. Brad joined the TED team in April 2024 and after a matter of a few months impressed so much that he was promoted to Supervisor. Brad has completed the Site Management Safety Training Scheme course so rest assured our projects are in very safe hands with him!

Fun Fact - Brad coaches childrens football locally at the weekends.

Our favourite thing about Brad - Brad takes his job very seriously and has stepped up into his role as supervisor fantastically! He is extremely able and very professional, having been within management roles for most of his career. Brad brings a huge amount of skill to the team and is always on hand to help both his team mates and clients alike.

Jason

Founder and Director

Jason is the Founder and Director of TED and runs all of our projects.  He is extremely hands on, and can be found on site with the rest of the team every day.  Jason also conducts all of our appointments, so if you’re looking for advice on your building project - he is the man to speak to!

Jason has a very extensive knowledge of building, having been in the industry since before leaving school.  He is a fully qualified bricklayer by trade, but is highly experienced is all areas of building.  Some of Jason’s past experience involves working at building surveyor level whilst carrying out inspections as an intermediary for work completed by other companies, project management for large projects like the lipstick building in Portsmouth, and even as a buyer for large materials merchants!  Jason has completed more extensions and conversions than he can remember, and loves what he does.  Even with all his experience, Jason is always keen to learn new things, and likes to stay up to speed with developments and advances in building materials and techniques.

Fun Fact – Jason named the business after his dad, Ted.  Unfortunately, Jason lost his dad at a very young age and wanted to build something that would have made his dad proud.  TED Construction & Developments was created to do exactly that.

Our favourite thing about Jason – He doesn’t take life too seriously, and he is kind beyond belief.  He is always approachable, both to his team and his clients, and nothing is ever too much trouble.  Once of his favourite phrases is ‘I don’t do problems’, so you can rest assured if Jason is working on a project and there is a ‘problem’ he will always find a way around it.  Jason leads his team with pride, positivity and importantly with respect.
